Why Your Website Isn't Ranking on Google (And How to Fix It)

Search visibility problems usually come down to a short list. Before paying anyone for an SEO retainer, rule these out.
1. You have no page targeting the term
You cannot rank for "commercial fit-out Birmingham" from a services page that mentions it once. Intent needs its own page.
2. The page is too slow to compete
Core Web Vitals are a ranking input and a conversion one. LCP under 2 seconds, CLS under 0.1, INP under 200ms.
3. Your headings do not say what the page is about
One H1 per page, describing the page. A logical H2 and H3 structure beneath it. This is basic and frequently wrong.
4. Nothing links to the page
Pages three clicks deep with no internal links get treated as unimportant, because structurally you have said they are.
5. The content answers nothing
If the page does not answer the question behind the search better than the current top result, ranking above it is not realistic.
